Standardized INFLUENCER STRATEGIST Client Kickoff Process

(Applies to cross-channel and influencer-only accounts)

  • DAY 0: Deal Deployment

    • Sales Lead posts deal in New Client Deployment Slack channel with proposal, client contact info, team etc.

  • DAY 0: Internal Kickoff

    • AM schedules internal kick off with account team + sales lead to get download on account. Team expected to review written materials prior to internal kickoff and come prepared with questions

      • Influencer lead to send AM any Typeform questions to be added to the welcome survey

    • Influencer lead will build out the influencer folder in the client drive once AM creates the client folder

  • WEEK 1: Client Kickoff Call

    • Customize the influencer workshop portion of Master Kickoff Deck

      • Tip: search recent Influencer kickoff decks to replicate

    • Influencer lead to walk through the influencer exercise on the kickoff call and dive deeper into any questions

  • WEEK 1: Post Kickoff Internal Sync

    • AM Schedules internal huddle with account team to discuss follow-up questions & next steps

    • Influencer lead confirms monthly ad spend with client and adds to the tracker here

    • Influencer lead creates an internal Roles & Responsibilities sheet (if 2+ are on the account)

  • MONTH 1: Influencer Strategy + List Building

    • Strategist finalizes influencer strategy 2 weeks after kickoff

      • AM to schedule Strategy presentation

        • AM/Influencer lead to tag team presentation

      • If approved, move forward with list building and creative brief

    • Influencer lead to complete influencer list and send to client by end of week 3

      • Team may have an external (client facing) list and internal list

    • Influencer lead to complete creative brief and send to client by end of week 3

    • Other internal processes include:

      • Create client contract template by EOM

      • Setup Tagger campaign (once influencers are slated)

      • Create & share EXT Influencer Process Sheet (ex: here, here, here) (if applicable)

  • Ongoing: Biweekly Internal Account Sync

    • Use internal sync to discuss challenges, pacing to goal etc.

Establishing Expectations:

Client Involvement

  • Common practice is for clients to approve influencer lists, creative briefs, strategy and drafted content before it goes live

    • Suggestion: client can review list/briefs/content for the first month, then can hand over process to PDM if approved on their end

  • Clients are not to be involved in the negotiation process or have eyes on budget allocations per influencer

    • Exceptions can be made for clients who insist on knowing the rates per influencer, however, it is included in our contract that those terms will remain confidential

Kickoff Workflow Timeline

  • Month 1 is a build phase. Client can expect coverage to start going live Month 2/Month 3.

Strategy Shifts

  • Given the timeline and workflow of campaign ideation, clients should give atleast 1 month notice on upcoming campaign requests to ensure time for production of creative briefs, influencer lists, etc.
