Power Digital Meeting Hygiene Checklist

  • G - GOAL:

    • Do I have a clear goal for this meeting?

      • What decision, alignment, or problem-solving do we need to accomplish?

  • R - Review ASYNC:

    • Can this be handled asynchronously instead of a live meeting?

      • Would a Slack message, Loom recording, or Asana task get the job done?

  • A - AGENDA:

    • Is an agenda included in the invite or linked doc?

      • Have you prepared a short guideline of what will be discussed in the meeting, and who is owning each item?

  • C - CONTEXT:

  • Have I shared any necessary pre-read materials or context in advance?

    • What links, decks, docs, etc., do attendees need to be fully informed and prepared before we meet?

  • E - ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTORS:

  • Have I invited only decision-makers or essential contributors?

    • Have I marked which attendees are OPTIONAL for this meeting? Are there any spectators on the invite list I could remove?

C - CONTEXT:

  • Set the tone for what the meeting will be about, and how we got to where we are today.

  • O - OPTIONS:

    • What are the options for how we can address the problem/purpose behind the meeting? What are the different paths forward? This is an open discussion.

  • D - DECISION:

    • Align on who will own each component of the solution and when it will be done. Secure buy-in from all attendees and stakeholders.

  • A - ASANA:

    • Add all next steps to Asana for easy tracking and follow-up.
