As a result of an improved Falcon sensor, you may not be required to do steps 3 and 4!

When prompted for a license, please enter: 0BCA8CD28D1C4FA5BD79EF1AC8B7B79E-1D


Prerequisite

Please ensure your Mac is up to date and is at the latest Version.

Falcon Sensor Deployment

1. Use Google Chrome to download the sensor installer. (Click "Download" / "Download Anyway" )

2. Run the sensor installer on your device by double clicking the downloaded file and follow the prompts

*For macOS Ventura 13, the following dialog may appear.

3. Click the Launchpad Icon and open Terminal.

4. You will be prompted for your system password. Please type it in and hit enter.
​Note: When you enter your password, you will NOT see any characters being displayed as you are typing. This is a security feature of terminal.

sudo /Applications/Falcon.app/Contents/Resources/falconctl license 0BCA8CD28D1C4FA5BD79EF1AC8B7B79E-1D

*You will likely receive the following popup. Click Open Security Preferences or manually navigate there by opening System Preferences > Security & Privacy and proceed to the next step.

5. Enable the application by going to your Security and Privacy settings:

  • Click the lock to make changes

  • Allow the application to open.

  • Click the lock to prevent further changes

6. Full Disk Access is required. You must grant Full Disk Access on each host for the sensor to work properly. Administrator account permission is required:

  1. Click the Apple icon and open System Preferences, then click Security & Privacy.

  2. On the Privacy tab, if privacy settings are locked, click the lock icon and specify the password.

  3. In the left pane, select Full Disk Access.

  4. For macOS Big Sur 11.0 and later, in the right pane, select the Agent check box:

  5. For all macOS versions, in the right pane, click the plus icon.

  6. In finder, find Falcon in the list of applications.

  7. Click Open or Quit and Reopen (depending on OS version) and then the click red X:

  8. Click the lock icon to re-lock privacy settings.

* System Preferences may look slightly different depending on what OS you are on

7. [Ventura OS Version Only] - You will be prompted with a banner to enable notifications. Please Allow.
